Sweet Maple Pecan Pie Bars

Sweet Maple Pecan Pie Bars

  • Total Time: Approximately 2 hours 45 minutes (including cooling)
  • Yield: 12-16 bars

Description

These Sweet Maple Pecan Pie Bars capture all the beloved flavors of classic pecan pie but in a wonderfully convenient bar that’s perfect for sharing or enjoying on the go.

Ingredients

• Crust: 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 tsp salt, 3/4 cup (1.5 sticks) cold unsalted butter (cubed) • Filling: 1 cup pure maple syrup, 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar, 3 large eggs, 1/4 cup melted butter, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/2 tsp salt, 2.5 cups pecan halves

Instructions

1. Prepare your oven to 350F and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2. Combine flour, granulated sugar, salt, and cold cubed butter in a food processor until coarse crumbs form.
3. Press the crust mixture firmly and evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes until lightly set.
4. Whisk together maple syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
5. Stir in the pecan halves and pour the filling evenly over the warm crust.
6. Bake for 28 to 32 minutes until the pecan filling is set at the edges and slightly jiggly in the center.
7. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan for 2 hours before slicing.

Notes

Make sure to press the crust mixture down firmly and evenly. This creates a stable base for the filling and ensures a pleasant texture.

The slight jiggle in the center is important. Overbaking can make the filling tough. It will continue to set as it cools.

Using parchment paper with an overhang is a game-changer for easy removal from the pan.

Patience is a virtue here! Allowing the bars to cool completely ensures they hold their shape beautifully when sliced.
