Sweet Grilled Peaches with Vanilla Ice Cream

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This recipe transforms simple, sweet peaches into a warm, caramelized dessert that’s utterly divine, especially when paired with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream. It’s a celebration of natural sweetness, enhanced by a touch of warmth and spice, creating a dessert that feels both elegant and incredibly easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale

4 large, firm but ripe freestone peaches
2 tablespoons neutral oil (like avocado oil) or melted unsalted butter
3 tablespoons high-quality honey
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
A pinch of flaky sea salt
1 pint premium vanilla bean ice cream

Instructions

Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Ensure the grates are clean and lightly oiled.

Wash the peaches, then slice them in half along the seam. Gently twist the halves apart and remove the pits. Leave the skin on.

Brush the cut sides of the peach halves with oil or melted butter.

Place the peach halves cut-side down on the hot grill.

Grill for 3 to 4 minutes until you see nice grill marks and the peaches soften slightly.

Carefully flip the peaches to their skin side and grill for another 1 to 2 minutes.

Remove the peaches from the grill and place them cut-side up on a serving dish.

Drizzle the warm peaches generously with honey, so it pools in the center.

Sprinkle the cinnamon and a tiny bit of flaky sea salt over the peaches.

Serve right away with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream placed in the center of each peach half.

Notes

Choose Your Grill Wisely: Whether you’re using an outdoor barbecue or an indoor grill pan, ensure it’s well-heated before adding the peaches. This is key for achieving those beautiful char marks and a nice caramelization.

Don’t Overcrowd: If grilling multiple peaches, make sure there’s enough space between them on the grill. This allows for even cooking and prevents steaming.

Gentle Handling: Grilled peaches are tender. Use a spatula to turn and remove them carefully to prevent them from breaking apart.

Sweetness Adjustment: The amount of brown sugar can be adjusted slightly based on the natural sweetness of your peaches and your personal preference.
