Ingredients

Scale

1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
1/2 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar (for filling)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for filling)
1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
23 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
Optional: 1/4 cup strawberry jam for extra flavor (for glaze)

Instructions

Activate yeast in warm milk and sugar until frothy.

Mix in melted butter, salt, eggs, and 2 cups of flour.

Gradually add remaining flour, kneading the dough until smooth.

Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour.

Combine softened butter, sugar, and cinnamon for the filling.

Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.

Roll out the dough into a rectangle.

Spread the cinnamon butter, then the cream cheese mixture, over the dough.

Sprinkle diced strawberries evenly.

Roll up the dough and slice into 12 rolls.

Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes.

Bake at 350F (175C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze. Add strawberry jam if desired.

Drizzle glaze over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

Don’t skip the rise time – Allowing the dough to rise properly is crucial for achieving light and fluffy sweet rolls.

Use a sharp knife or floss – To get clean cuts when slicing the rolls, use a very sharp knife or unflavored dental floss.

Don’t overbake – Keep an eye on the rolls towards the end of baking to prevent them from drying out. They are ready when golden brown.

Cool slightly before glazing – This helps the glaze set properly.

Serve fresh – These rolls are best enjoyed the same day they are baked.
