Ingredients
1 package King’s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls 12 count
Cheesecake Filling
16 ounces cream cheese softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup granulated sugar
1 cup heavy whipping cream whipped to stiff peaks OR 8 oz whipped topping
1 pint strawberries stemmed, hulled, quartered
Topping
1 cup heavy whipping cream or use 8 ounces whipped topping instead of heavy cream, vanilla extract and powdered sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ cup powdered sugar
1 pint strawberries stemmed, hulled, sliced
1 pint blueberries
Instructions
1. Cut the sweet rolls in half lengthwise.
2. Beat cream cheese until light and fluffy.
3. Add vanilla extract and sugar, then beat until combined.
4. Gently fold in whipped topping or whipped cream.
5. Spread about two-thirds of the cheesecake mixture on the bottom roll halves.
6. Press the quartered strawberries into the cheesecake.
7. Cover the strawberries with the remaining cheesecake filling.
8. Place the top roll halves on top of the filling.
9. If using heavy cream, beat it until stiff peaks form. Then, beat in vanilla and powdered sugar.
10. Spread whipped cream or whipped topping on top of the rolls.
11. Top with sliced strawberries and blueberries.
12. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
Chill the dough is essential for a flaky crust. Don’t skip this step!
Keep the butter cold when making the crust. Cold butter creates steam when baking, which helps create flaky layers.
