One Pot Cheeseburger Pasta Recipe

One Pot Cheeseburger Pasta Recipe

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 servings 1x

Description

This One Pot Cheeseburger Pasta recipe brings all the craveable flavors of a classic cheeseburger into a comforting bowl of creamy, dreamy pasta. It’s unbelievably easy to make, requiring just one pot and a handful of simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb lean ground beef
1 small yellow onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tsp garlic powder
2.5 cups beef broth
1.5 cups whole milk
8 oz elbow macaroni, uncooked
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
Salt and black pepper to taste
Chopped pickles for garnish

Instructions

In a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium high heat, brown the ground beef and diced onion for 6 to 8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Stir in the minced garlic, tomato paste, yellow mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute.

Add the beef broth, whole milk, and uncooked elbow macaroni. Stir well to ensure the pasta is submerged.

Bring the liquid to a boil, then cover the pot, lower the heat to medium low, and let it simmer for 10 to 12 minutes until the pasta is tender, stirring now and then.

Take off the heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it is smooth, melted, and creamy.

Garnish with chopped pickles and serve warm.

Notes

Make sure to drain off any excess fat from the ground beef after browning. This keeps the final dish from feeling greasy and allows the other flavors to shine.

It’s crucial that the elbow macaroni is fully submerged in the broth and milk mixture before you start simmering. This ensures it cooks evenly and absorbs all the delicious flavors.

Giving the pasta a stir every few minutes during the simmering process is key to preventing it from clumping together or sticking to the bottom of the pot.

Stirring the cheese in *after* removing the pot from the heat prevents it from becoming oily or grainy. The residual heat is perfect for achieving a smooth, creamy melt.

Before serving, always taste your pasta and adjust the salt and pepper as needed. Everyone’s preference for seasoning is a little different!
