Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter (cubed)
- 10 oz package miniature or large marshmallows (reserve small handful)
- 12 oz package Golden Grahams cereal (approx. 8 cups)
- 1/3 cup milk chocolate chips (melted)
Instructions
Melt: Melt cubed butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows (minus reserved handful) and stir constantly until smooth and fluffy.
Fold: Remove from heat immediately. Gently fold in Golden Grahams cereal until evenly coated.
Press: Transfer to a greased 13×9-inch pan. Press firmly and evenly with a buttered spatula. Scatter reserved marshmallows over the top and press in slightly.
Drizzle: Melt chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals. Drizzle over the bars with a fork or spoon.
Set: Cool completely at room temperature before cutting into squares.
Notes
Chewy vs. Hard: Use low heat only! High heat overcooks the marshmallow sugars, resulting in rock-hard treats once cooled.
Non-Stick Success: Grease the pan, saucepan, and your spatula with butter to manage the sticky marshmallow mixture.
Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2–3 days. Avoid the fridge, as it makes the cereal soggy and marshmallows too firm.
