Description
This maple brown sugar grilled pineapple recipe creates a delightful caramelized sweetness that’s perfect for summer gatherings or a special treat anytime. The warm, spicy notes of cinnamon and ginger blend beautifully with the rich maple and brown sugar, making each bite pure sunshine. It’s an incredibly simple yet impressive way to elevate fresh fruit. Juicy pineapple chunks char beautifully on the grill, transforming into tender, sweet morsels with irresistible smoky undertones.
Ingredients
1 pineapple top, bottom, and skin removed
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tablespoons maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt, to taste
Instructions
Preheat your grill to 350 degrees F.
In a small bowl, stir together the brown sugar and maple syrup to make the glaze.
Slice the pineapple into 3/4-inch thick rounds. Spoon some of the glaze onto each slice and use the back of the spoon to coat both sides of the pineapple evenly.
Place the pineapple slices on the grill grates. Cook for 4 to 8 minutes on each side until they are heated through and show nice grill marks.
Transfer the warm fruit to a platter and sprinkle with coarse sea salt. Serve as a delicious side dish or top with ice cream for a perfect dessert.
Notes
For easier handling on the grill, consider cutting your pineapple into wedges rather than whole rings, especially if you’re new to grilling fruit.
Maintaining a consistent medium-high heat is key. Too low, and the sugar will burn before the pineapple softens; too high, and it might scorch too quickly on the outside.
Grilled fruit can go from perfectly caramelized to burnt very quickly. Keep an eye on it throughout the grilling process.
For the best texture and flavor, serve this grilled pineapple warm, right after it comes off the grill.
