Description

The ultimate crowd-pleasing appetizer or easy dinner. Savory seasoned beef and gooey Velveeta are wrapped in a golden, crispy thin pizza crust for a handheld cheeseburger experience. Perfect for game days or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Bread

  • 1 lb lean ground beef, 1/2 cup yellow onion (chopped)
  • 1 (13.8 oz) can thin crust pizza dough
  • 8 oz Velveeta cheese (cubed), 1 cup shredded cheddar jack
  • 1 tbsp steak seasoning

For the Dipping Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1/4 cup ketchup

Instructions

Sauté: Preheat oven to 425°F. Brown ground beef and onions in a skillet until cooked; drain excess grease.

Melt: Reduce heat to low. Stir in steak seasoning and cubed Velveeta until melted and beef is coated. Remove from heat.

Roll: Unroll pizza dough on a parchment-lined sheet, stretching to a 15×10-inch rectangle.

Fill & Seal: Spread meat mixture over dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Top with shredded cheese. Roll tightly into a log starting from the long side. Pinch ends and seams firmly.

Bake: Place seam-side down and bake for 15–20 mins until deep golden brown. Rest 10 mins before slicing.

Notes

Dough Choice: Use ‘thin crust’ pizza dough to ensure the bread stays crispy and light rather than becoming too doughy in the center.

Liquid Gold: Velveeta is essential for its specific melting properties; it remains creamy and liquid even after cooling, unlike block cheeses.

The Resting Rule: Allow the bread to rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This lets the cheese set enough to stay inside the slice instead of running out.
