Fresh Pineapple Salsa Recipe

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: Varies

Description

A vibrant and refreshing salsa that combines sweet pineapple with zesty lime, jalapeño heat, and fresh cilantro. Perfect for tacos, grilled chicken, or tortilla chips.

Ingredients

Scale

3 cups fresh pineapple diced, about half a large pineapple
1 red bell pepper diced
½ cup red onion diced, about half an onion
1 jalapeño seeds and ribs removed then finely chopped
⅓ cup cilantro chopped
2 tablespoons lime juice
¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

Dice the pineapple. You can keep or remove the core. When the pineapple is ripe, the core is tender. Dice the bell pepper, red onion, jalapeo, and cilantro. Combine everything in a bowl and add salt and lime juice. Mix well, then taste and adjust the seasonings.

Notes

Use a Sharp Knife: A sharp knife will make it easier to dice the pineapple and other ingredients neatly.

Taste and Adjust: Taste the salsa and adjust the seasonings to your preference. You might want more lime juice, salt, or jalapeño.

Proper Storage: Store leftover salsa in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Avoid Mushy Salsa: Don’t over-mix the salsa, which can cause the tomatoes to break down too much.

Spice Level: Removing the seeds and membranes from the jalapeño will reduce the heat.
