Easy Holiday Meatballs Recipe

  • Total Time: 2 hours 5 minutes - 4 hours 5 minutes
  • Yield: Varies (depends on meatball size and serving size)

Description

Get ready for a delightful appetizer that’s perfect for any festive gathering! These Easy Holiday Meatballs are a delightful blend of savory and sweet, with a rich, tangy sauce that coats every tender bite. They’re incredibly simple to make, freeing you up to enjoy your guests and the holiday cheer.

Ingredients

Scale

1 bag (26-32 oz) frozen fully cooked beef or turkey meatballs
1 bottle (12 oz) chili sauce
1 can (14 oz) whole berry cranberry sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Prepare frozen meatballs in your slow cooker. Combine chili sauce, cranberry sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl and whisk until smooth. Pour the sauce over the meatballs, stirring gently to coat. Cook on low for 3 to 4 hours or high for 2 hours. Stir before serving warm with toothpicks.

Notes

Ensure your slow cooker is an appropriate size for the quantity of meatballs. You want them to be mostly submerged in the sauce without overflowing.

If you prefer a slightly thicker sauce, you can remove the lid for the last 30 minutes of cooking on the high setting, allowing some of the liquid to evaporate.

The longer these meatballs simmer on the low setting, the more the flavors will meld together, creating an even richer and more delicious sauce.

When stirring the meatballs and sauce, use a soft spatula or spoon and be gentle to avoid breaking up the meatballs.
