Description
These crispy air fryer chicken tenders are a game changer for weeknight dinners and kid-friendly meals alike. Imagine perfectly golden, crunchy bites with a tender, juicy interior, all made with minimal effort and a healthy dose of delicious flavor.
Ingredients
1.5 lbs chicken tenderloins
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and black pepper to taste
Olive oil cooking spray
Instructions
First, prepare your chicken tenderloins by patting them dry and seasoning them well with salt and pepper. Next, create your breading station with flour in the first bowl, beaten eggs in the second, and a flavorful mixture of panko, Parmesan, and spices in the third. Dredge each tender through the flour, then the egg, and finally coat them generously in the panko mixture. Preheat your air fryer and lightly spray the basket before arranging the coated tenders in a single layer, giving them a light spray on top as well. Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway and spraying again, until they are golden brown and cooked through.
Notes
We’re using 1.5 lbs of chicken tenderloins, which are naturally tender and cook quickly. You can also use chicken breast cut into strips.
This is our first layer of coating, helping the egg adhere to the chicken.
Beaten eggs act as the binder for our breadcrumbs.
These Japanese breadcrumbs create an extra-crispy coating that’s lighter than traditional breadcrumbs.
