Creamy Homemade Peanut Butter Fudge

Creamy Homemade Peanut Butter Fudge

  • Total Time: 2 hours 15 minutes
  • Yield: 64 squares 1x

Description

Create decadent, melt-in-your-mouth peanut butter fudge with this easy homemade recipe. Perfect for holidays, gifting, or a simple sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
3.5 cups powdered sugar
Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

Prepare an 8×8 inch baking dish by lining it with parchment paper or foil and greasing it lightly.
Gently melt the butter and peanut butter together in a saucepan over medium low heat until they are smooth and fully combined.
Take the saucepan off the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
Slowly incorporate the powdered sugar, folding and stirring until the mixture is smooth and thick.
Spread the peanut butter fudge mixture evenly into your prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least two hours until it is firm.
Use the parchment paper to lift the fudge from the pan and cut it into one inch squares.

Notes

Using unsalted butter gives you control over the saltiness of your fudge, allowing you to add just the right amount of sea salt.
Opt for a good quality, creamy peanut butter for the smoothest texture. Natural peanut butters that separate might alter the texture, so a traditional creamy variety is best here.
Powdered sugar – Also known as confectioners’ sugar or icing sugar, this is crucial for achieving that signature silky smooth fudge consistency.
Sea Salt – Just a pinch enhances the peanut butter flavor and cuts through the sweetness beautifully.
For a touch of extra indulgence, consider adding mini chocolate chips or chopped roasted peanuts just before spreading the fudge into the pan. A swirl of melted chocolate on top once it’s firm also looks and tastes divine.
