Description

This Creamy Baked Chicken Alfredo Pasta is a rich, decadent, and incredibly satisfying meal that brings a classic favorite to a whole new level of deliciousness. It’s so simple to put together, making it perfect for a weeknight treat or a special occasion when you want something truly impressive.

Ingredients

Scale

12 oz penne or fettuccine pasta
2 cups cooked chicken breast, cubed or shredded
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups heavy cream
1.5 cups grated Parmesan cheese
1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375F and prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Cook your pasta until it’s al dente, then drain it well.

Melt butter in a saucepan, saut garlic briefly, then whisk in heavy cream and simmer.

Stir in Parmesan cheese, seasonings, salt, and pepper until smooth.

Combine the cooked pasta and chicken with the sauce, pour into the prepared baking dish, and sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

Notes

We love using penne or fettuccine for this dish. The shapes hold onto that gorgeous sauce beautifully.

Using pre-cooked chicken breast, whether cubed or shredded, makes this recipe wonderfully quick and convenient. Rotisserie chicken is a fantastic shortcut!

This is the key to our super-creamy sauce. It creates a rich and luxurious base that coats every strand of pasta.

Freshly grated Parmesan cheese melts best and offers the most vibrant, nutty flavor.

Shredded mozzarella creates that irresistible, gooey, bubbly topping we all adore.

A simple blend that adds a wonderful herbaceous note to complement the richness.

Feel free to stir in some steamed broccoli florets or sautéed mushrooms with the chicken for an extra layer of flavor and nutrition.

If you enjoy a little warmth, a pinch of red pepper flakes added to the sauce can provide a subtle kick.

While Parmesan and mozzarella are classic, a touch of provolone or Gruyere could add an interesting twist to the topping.
