Description
This creamy avocado ranch is a vibrant, healthy twist on a classic! It’s bursting with fresh flavors, a lovely tang, and the smooth richness that comes from ripe avocados.
Ingredients
1/2 cup low-fat buttermilk
4 Tbsp sour cream
3 Tbsp mayonnaise
1/2 large avocado, or 1 smaller avocado
1 Tbsp cilantro
1/2 tsp dijon mustard, we used Grey Poupon brand
1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce
1 garlic clove, minced or pressed
3/4 tsp salt, or to taste (I used sea salt)
1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
1. Put all of the ingredients in a food processor.
2. Pulse to combine, then blend until everything is smooth. Scrape down the bowl if you need to.
3. Add salt and pepper to taste.
4. Serve as a dip or dressing.
5. Store leftovers in a small airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Notes
Add the water gradually to achieve your perfect desired consistency. You can always add more water, but you can’t take it away!
Always taste and adjust the seasoning to your liking. Every avocado is a little different in flavor, so you might need more or less lime juice or salt.
If you’re using a blender that isn’t super powerful, pulse the ingredients a few times before blending on high to help break down the avocado.
The avocado ranch will thicken as it sits, so add a bit of water before serving, if needed.
