Instructions

Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Butter and line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.

Base: Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. In a larger bowl, whisk sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla. Fold dry into wet until just combined.

Divide: Split batter into two bowls. In Bowl 1, sift in cocoa and stir in chocolate chunks. In Bowl 2, stir in mashed bananas.

Swirl: Dollop chocolate batter into pan, then pour banana batter over it. Use a knife to gently swirl in a ‘figure-eight’ motion.
