Description

This Stove Top Stuffing Meatloaf is a game-changer for meatloaf lovers! Using pre-seasoned stuffing mix instead of breadcrumbs gives this meatloaf incredible flavor, perfect texture, and moisture without the guesswork. It’s a foolproof, family-approved meal that’s easy to make and perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale

Core Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef (80/20) or ground turkey
  • 1 box Stove Top stuffing mix (chicken, turkey, or cornbread flavor)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¾ cup milk (or broth for added flavor)
  • ½ cup ketchup (or barbecue sauce for glaze)

Optional Additions

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup diced onions
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (for a spicy kick)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.
  2. Prepare the Stuffing Mix
In a large bowl, add the Stove Top stuffing mix and pour in the milk (or broth). Let it sit for 5 minutes to soften.
  3. Mix the Meatloaf Mixture
Add the ground beef (or turkey) and eggs to the stuffing mixture. If using, mix in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and diced onions. Gently combine until just mixed (avoid overmixing to keep it tender).
  4. Shape the Meatloaf
Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it on the prepared baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
  5. Add the Glaze
Spread ketchup (or barbecue sauce) evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Bake
Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  7. Rest and Serve
Let the meatloaf rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute. Serve warm with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Use a Meat Thermometer: Ensures the meatloaf is cooked to the perfect temperature without drying out.
  • Let It Rest: Resting prevents moisture loss and keeps the meatloaf juicy.
  • Try Different Stuffing Flavors: Cornbread stuffing gives a slightly sweet touch, while herb-seasoned stuffing enhances the savory flavors.
  • Make-Ahead Tip: Prepare the meatloaf mixture ahead of time and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking.
