Description

This S’mores Pie is a delightful no-bake dessert that brings the classic campfire treat indoors. With a buttery graham cracker crust, a velvety smooth chocolate ganache filling, and a fluffy toasted marshmallow topping, it’s a nostalgic and easy-to-make dessert. The combination of textures crunchy, creamy, and gooey makes every bite an experience. It’s the perfect sweet treat for any occasion, offering all the flavor of traditional s’mores without the need for a bonfire.

Ingredients

Scale

Graham Cracker Crust
1 9-inch graham cracker crust, homemade or store-bought

Chocolate Ganache Filling
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup heavy whipping cream

Marshmallow Topping
4 cups mini marshmallows, or 20 large marshmallows

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Graham Cracker Crust
If you’re using a homemade crust, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Press the mixture firmly into a 9-inch pie plate, working it up the sides to create a sturdy base. For best results, place the crust in the freezer for about 15 minutes to firm up.

Step 2: Make the Rich Chocolate Ganache
Place the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a medium, heat-safe bowl. In a small saucepan, bring the heavy whipping cream to a simmer. Once it begins to bubble around the edges, pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then gently whisk until the mixture is smooth and glossy.

Step 3: Add a Fluffy Marshmallow Topping
Pour the prepared chocolate ganache into the cooled graham cracker crust. Arrange the mini or large marshmallows evenly over the entire surface of the ganache.

Step 4: Toast the Marshmallows for the Ultimate S’mores Pie
To toast the marshmallows, you have two options. You can use a kitchen torch to carefully toast them until they are golden brown and slightly charred. Alternatively, place the pie under your oven broiler for 1-2 minutes, watching it closely to prevent burning.

Notes

Preventing a Soggy Crust: Press the graham cracker mixture firmly into the pie plate and let the chocolate ganache cool slightly before pouring it in. This prevents the hot ganache from melting the butter in the crust, which can lead to a mushy texture.

Customizing the Flavor: For a nutty twist, add 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter to the warm heavy cream before pouring it over the chocolate chips. You can also drizzle caramel sauce over the ganache for a richer flavor or add a teaspoon of peppermint extract for a mint chocolate variation.

Storage: The S’mores Pie can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Cover it loosely with plastic wrap to keep the topping from getting dry.

Best Chocolate: Semi-sweet chocolate chips are recommended for a balanced flavor, but you can use milk chocolate if you prefer a sweeter filling.
