Description
A decadent chocolate-lover’s dream. This moist, fudgy loaf combines deep cocoa flavor with the iconic crunch of Oreo cookies and semi-sweet chocolate chips. More like a sophisticated dessert than a quick bread, every slice delivers a professional bakery-style experience.
Ingredients
The Chocolate Loaf
- 1 1/4 cups flour, 2/3 cup cocoa (sifted)
- 1/2 cup butter, 1 cup sugar, 0.5 cup brown sugar
- 3 eggs, 2 tsp vanilla, 0.5 tsp baking powder, 0.75 tsp salt
The Mix-ins & Topping
- 20 Oreos, crumbled (divided)
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8×4 loaf pan.
Cream: Beat butter and sugars for 2 mins until light. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
Dry: Sift flour, cocoa, powder, and salt. Gradually add to wet mixture until just combined.
Fold: Gently stir in 1.5 cups Oreo chunks and all chocolate chips by hand.
Bake: Pour into pan, top with remaining Oreo chunks. Bake 50–55 mins. Cool in pan for 10 mins.
Notes
Sifting is Non-Negotiable: Sift cocoa to prevent bitter clumps and ensure a uniform dark color.
Large Chunks Only: Keep Oreo pieces at 1/4 to 1/2 inch to ensure visible cookies & cream sections.
Two-Spot Toothpick Test: Check multiple spots; if you hit a melted chocolate chip, the toothpick will look wet even if the bread is done.
