Description

Fresh, elegant, and full of Mediterranean flavor, these bite-sized appetizers feature cherry tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil on toothpicks, drizzled with olive oil and seasoning. Perfect for gatherings and simple, vibrant sharing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 cherry tomatoes
  • 10 oz mozzarella cheese, cubed
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • 20 toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Rinse tomatoes and basil, pat dry. Cube mozzarella into pieces similar to tomatoes.
  2. Thread one cherry tomato, folded basil leaf, and mozzarella cube onto each toothpick, repeating for all ingredients.
  3. Arrange on platter. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Optionally add balsamic glaze drizzle for decor.
  4. Refrigerate 10–15 minutes before serving for refreshing flavor. Serve chilled.

Notes

Use ripe, sweet tomatoes and fresh mozzarella for best taste.

Keep ingredients dry to prevent sogginess.

Assemble close to serving time for freshness.

Store refrigerated up to 4 hours. Drizzle oil or glaze just before serving.

For enhanced presentation, garnish with flaky sea salt or balsamic reduction.
