Ingredients
The Pastry & Filling
- 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed (cold)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 8 oz cheddar cheese, shredded (divided)
- 2 jalapeños, seeded and finely sliced
The Finish
- 1 large egg, beaten (egg wash)
Instructions
Prep: Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment.
Layer: Roll out first pastry sheet. Spread cream cheese thinly; sprinkle with 2/3 of cheddar and half the jalapeños. Top with second sheet.
Cut: Use a pizza cutter to slice into 1.5-inch strips.
Twist: Brush with egg wash. Twist each strip 2–3 times and place on sheet.
Topping: Sprinkle with remaining cheese and jalapeños.
Bake: Bake for 12–15 mins until golden and bubbly.
Notes
Keep it Cold: Cold butter is essential for ‘lift’; if the dough softens, chill for 10 mins before baking.
