Description

Luscious, creamy fudge blending semi-sweet and milk chocolate with sweetened condensed milk and hot chocolate mix. Studded with marshmallows and topped with crushed peppermint candies for a festive chocolate and peppermint treat.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
1½ cups milk chocolate chips
3 tbsp butter
14 oz sweetened condensed milk
½ cup hot chocolate mix (about 4 packets)
2 tsp vanilla extract
4 cups marshmallows, divided
½ cup crushed peppermint candy canes or peppermints

Instructions

  1. Prepare pan: Line an 8×8-inch pan with foil or parchment paper and lightly spray.

  2. Melt ingredients: In a double boiler or heatproof bowl over simmering water, combine 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, butter, sweetened condensed milk, and hot chocolate mix. Stir continuously until melted and smooth.

  3. Add marshmallows and vanilla: Remove from heat, stir in 2 cups marshmallows for 1 minute, then mix in vanilla extract.

  4. Assemble fudge: Pour mixture into prepared pan and gently press remaining marshmallows onto the top.

  5. Chill: Refrigerate at least 4 hours until firm.

  6. Chocolate drizzle: Melt reserved ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth. Drizzle over set fudge and cool completely.

  7. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies on the drizzle before serving.

Notes

Stir chocolate continuously to prevent burning or seizing.

Use quality chocolates for best results.

Press marshmallows lightly to help them adhere.

Chill fully for clean slicing.

Drizzle melted chocolate only after fudge is set to prevent melting.
