- 12 oz cheese tortellini
- 2 chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Bring salted water to boil. Cook tortellini per package. Add broccoli last 2 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in skillet over medium. Season chicken with salt, pepper, half Italian seasoning. Cook 5–6 minutes until golden and cooked. Remove chicken.
- Lower heat, add garlic to skillet; sauté 30 seconds. Pour in broth, scrape browned bits.
- Add heavy cream, remaining seasoning, salt, and pepper; simmer 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Stir in Parmesan until smooth. Adjust sauce thickness with broth if needed.
- Add tortellini, broccoli, and chicken. Toss gently and cook 2–3 minutes until heated through.
- Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan. Serve hot with bread or salad.
Notes
Freshly grated Parmesan melts best for creamy sauce.
Remove tortellini as soon as tender and floating to avoid overcooking.
Add or swap vegetables like spinach, asparagus, or peas.
Use half-and-half to lighten the dish.
Thin thick sauce with chicken broth or pasta water if needed.
