Description

Bite-sized appetizers with crunchy wonton wrappers filled with seasoned chicken, salsa, and melted cheddar cheese. Perfect party snack or quick weeknight treat that’s easy to prepare and endlessly crowd-pleasing.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning
  • ½ cup salsa
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Sour cream, for topping
  • Green onions, sliced, for garnish
  • Chopped tomatoes, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin pan.
  2. Mix chicken, taco seasoning, and salsa until evenly coated. Add more salsa if desired.
  3. Press one wonton wrapper into each muffin cup, shaping sides to form a shell.
  4. Spoon about 1 tbsp chicken mixture into each cup. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese. For heartier cups, layer another wonton on top, then add more filling and cheese.
  5. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and cheese is melted.
  6. Cool 2–3 minutes in pan. Top with sour cream, green onions, and chopped tomatoes. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use rotisserie chicken for quick preparation.

Avoid overfilling to prevent soggy cups.

Bake empty wonton shells ahead; fill just before serving.

Try Monterey Jack or pepper jack cheeses for variety.

Reheat in oven or air fryer to keep cups crisp.
