Description

This Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball is a creamy, no-bake dessert that combines the luscious texture of cream cheese with the sweetness of chocolate chips. It’s perfect for parties, potlucks, or anytime you need a quick and indulgent treat. Serve it with graham crackers, pretzels, or vanilla wafers for an irresistible dessert dip.

Ingredients

Scale

Core Ingredients:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Optional Additions:

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter or caramel swirls
  • A pinch of sea salt

For Coating & Serving:

  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (for rolling)
  • Graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or pretzels (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Mix the Base:
    • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy.
    • Add the brown sugar, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Continue mixing until fully combined.
  2. Fold in Chocolate Chips:
    • Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips (and any optional mix-ins like nuts or caramel) until evenly distributed.
  3. Shape & Chill:
    • Transfer the mixture onto a piece of plastic wrap.
    • Gather the edges of the wrap and shape the mixture into a ball.
    • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  4. Coat & Serve:
    • Roll the chilled cheese ball in extra mini chocolate chips for added crunch.
    • Serve with graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or pretzels.

Notes

  • For the best texture, let the cheese ball chill overnight.
  • If you need to speed up the chilling process, freeze it for 30 minutes.
  • To prevent overmixing, fold in the chocolate chips by hand.
  • Take the cheese ball out of the fridge 10-15 minutes before serving to soften slightly for easier dipping.
  • Customize with different flavors by adding cocoa powder, nuts, or peanut butter swirls.
